Director, Social Housing Reform, Homes Victoria
Dr Maya Ramakrishnan is Director of the Social Housing Reform policy unit at Homes Victoria, where her team leads work on long term policy and strategy, legislative reform and evidence and insights. Maya was responsible for the policy design for the Big Housing Build, announced by the Government in November 2020, a record investment of $5.3 billion to build more than 12,000 new social and affordable housing dwellings. Maya has held executive positions across the Victorian Public Service, including the Department of Treasury and Finance, Family Safety Victoria and the Department of Premier and Cabinet. She previously worked in financial markets at Macquarie, in Australia and the U.S. Maya holds a PhD in mathematics from The University of Melbourne.
