Professor Steven Rowley

Steven Rowley is a professor in the School of Economics, Finance and Property at Curtin University. He has been director of the Australian Housing Urban Research Institute’s (AHURI) Curtin research centre since 2011 and is a member (and past chair) of the WA Housing Industry Forecasting Group (HIFG). His research focuses on the areas of housing affordability, housing supply and the impact of urban regulation on the economics of housing. Steven has published over 100 industry and academic papers/reports, receiving funding from sources such as the Australian Research Council, European Union, UK government and AHURI. He is a regular media commentator and spends a considerable amount of his time teaching final year university students the fundamentals of property development.
